Born and raised in the beautiful city of Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria, I'm passionate and a dedicated visionary. I'm humbled by what I created, Heal The Youth Foundation (HTYF) - a Non-Governmental Organization founded in 2003.

Over the years of its existence, HTYF has reflected its work through its values, principles, policies, people, and programs to its Nationwide Audience. Our NGO embodies our great desire to enhance the quality of life of the vulnerable in Nigeria.

Why did you decide to start a Not-for-Profit
Organization in Nigeria?

Looking back, I was inspired to create a platform to reduce the rate of occurrences of teenage pregnancies among school age girls and reduce the number of girls and boys who were infected with STI'S, WF and HIV & AIDS in the local communities. This inspiration was fuelled by my personal experience - suffering the trauma of youth related pregnancies, including losing a cousin to teenage pregnancy and unsafe abortion.

The project was targeted at inspiring teenagers to avoid engaging in unprotected casual sex at an early age. Rather, their energies should be channelled towards culturally acceptable, gender-sensitive, creative, and educative activities like folklore, drama, dance, arts, singing, football among several initiatives

But before HTYF was created, I developed and executed marketing and sales strategies for businesses across a variety of industries in Nigeria which improved output from 25% to 95% from three perspectives: branch manager with a specialized office equipment dealer; Osiquip Nigeria Limited from 2005-2006, a sales executive at an ICT and power organization; Data flex Nigeria Limited from 2001-2005; head of sales team (Pathfinder team) of Sea Petroleum & Gas Group (SPG) of companies, as an Accountant II, in INTRALOG-Subsidiary of SPG (1998-2001).

I am in many ways one of you. Just like you, my objective has always been "to move towards changing lives, home and communities to become better and be the people they hoped and dreamed to be".

That includes women like me, youths, and vulnerable children. I am highly keen in leading and inspiring people to achieve their best through the development of program/platforms that enhance their potentials and skills while ensuring they impact their world. I believe in the quote by Gregory Scott Red that "the greatest success we'll know is helping others succeed and grow."

This philosophy, a dogged amount of hard-work and a discernible amount of grace have led to some wonderful milestones. For instance:

WHICH BRINGS ME TO YOU

I'm here to serve. My NGO is built on a foundation of love, a passion for what's possible and a commitment to be an unstoppable force for good. Through our programs and all that we offer -- we're in this to make impact. To enhance the quality of life of the vulnerable in Nigeria.

Whether you're starting or growing your NGO or looking to make big change in another person's life, we're here to give you the platform you need to improve the lives of others and tap into a working system that implements solution to some of Nigeria's biggest challenges.

Yes, this is not-for-profit. Yes, we collect donations. Yes, we're proud and deeply grateful to empower lives positively. But you shouldn't forget that your generous donations are key for sustained interventions that uplift vulnerable youths, women and children in communities.

I wish to state that I do not claim to know it all or have the perfect system or solutions to the challenges the vulnerable in Nigeria face. We fail and have difficult days, just like everyone else.

But my commitment is to share all that I've come to learn and experience; to contribute to long term impact while while making HTYF irrelevant to our communities by making them more sustainable, resilient and healthy.

If you've read this far, thank you. I hope this is just the beginning of our relationship. I'd love to learn more about you. The best way to share that and stay connected is to make sure you become part of our #Empowered4ImpactCommunity-- Just click here and enter your name and email.
